Halibab Matador (real name Alban Murenzi) is a Rwandan-born, Brussels-based guitarist and producer blending jazz, soul, hip-hop, and electronic influences into warm, melancholic soundscapes. Formerly one half of the acclaimed duo YellowStraps, he now focuses on solo work under the Halibab Matador moniker. After releasing a series of beat tapes (Beats 1–5), his 2023 debut album Souvenirs marked a new creative chapter—praised for its emotional depth and analog textures. Lead single “Ocean/Sea” earned attention for its honest, atmospheric feel, capturing the essence of Matador’s introspective style.
